Batman and The Joker are Back and Better Than Ever!

The Dark Knight was one of the biggest summer blockbuster movies this year and is still going strong in theaters.  It brought Batman and The Joker back to the forefront in terms of merchandise, toys and of course Halloween costumes.  Batman is always a popular Halloween costume every year, but this year they’re selling up a storm in both childrens and adult sizes and they’re almost impossible to find.  Well, not anymore!

At HalloweenExpress.com we just received a new shipment of Batman The Dark Knight costumes.   We now have the amazing Batman and Joker Deluxe Costumes in both childrens and adult sizes.  But hurry they won’t last long!  If you haven’t seen The Dark Knight yet, you should go see it this weekend.  With the help of Heath Ledger giving a great perfomance playing the Joker, The Dark Knight is by far the best Batman movie yet!  It won’t disappoint!

You Go Girl!

With Disney shows such as High School Musical, Hannah Montanna, The Cheetah Girls and Camp Rock it’s no wonder that a lot of little girls dream of growing up to be a popstar diva.  I know first hand that my daughter’s Sydney and Olivia love to watch all these shows and can’t get to their karaoke microphone fast enough.  At the time we bought the microphone we thought it would be “cute” to watch them sing and dance in their room, however we were in for a rude awakening if we thought they would just dance and sing in their room and not the entire house!  My son, Caden begs them to stop just moments before he flings the closest not nailed down piece of furniture that he can reach.  But girls have to be girls and that means the more Caden complains the louder their singing becomes until finally mom has to step in!  The Disney shows make it fun for them to dance and sing and of course they know all the words to every song on every show.  I think it’s great and I love to watch them perform (I just need to keep them away from the rec room when Caden is trying to play his Xbox).

Girls love all the flashy outfits worn by all the teen pop stars.  The more glitter the better!  Last year for Halloween my 7-year old niece went as a Mega Child Star in full sequened and feathered costume including a cute (but fake) wireless headset microphone.  She looked adorable and thought she was just the coolest thing ever to grace their neighborhood while trick-or-treating.   This year is no different with High School Musical 3: Senior Year coming out right before Halloween and Disney’s recently released television show Camp Rock.  Kids are eating this up!

At Halloween Express we have a huge selection of “pop diva costumes“  so that every girl can feel like a rock star this Halloween!

Could It Be – High School Musical 3?

If you have children or if you haven’t had your head buried in the sand for the past two years, chances are you’ve either heard about or seen High School Musical and High School Musical 2 on the Disney Channel.  Did you know that when the original High School Musical came out in January 2006 it became the most successful Disney Channel Original Movie ever produced and the film’s soundtrack was the best-selling album in the United States for that year?  Plus High School Musical 2 shattered cable television records when the premiere was watched by 18.6 million viewers.  That is huge!  Disney really hit it big with this show.

But Disney didn’t stop there!  On October 24th, High School Musical 3: Senior Year is coming out in movie theaters – no more television for these guys, Disney is going straight to the big screen with this one and it’s the first Disney Channel Original Movie to do that with a sequel.

The series revolves around a group of six high school students; Troy – the basketball star, Gabriella – the math wize, Sharpay and Ryan – co-presidents of the Drama Club, Chad - Troy’s best friend and teammate and Taylor -head of the science club.  There’s a lot of singing and dancing along with all the drama of high school that kids love.   Since both High School Musical and High School Musical 2 were such huge hits I’m sure High School Musical 3: Senior Year will be just as well received!  I know my daughter is on pins and needles waiting for it to come out and she already has plans with a couple of her friends to go and see it the Friday night it opens.  I’m sure I won’t be the only mother with giggling girls at the movie theater that night!

However, the news just keeps getting better.  It seems Disney is already in the writing stages for High School Musical 4!  I’m not sure what they would call it since High School Muscial 3 is supposed to take place their senior year, but we’ll just have to wait and see what Disney will end up doing with the clan at East High!

You can bet we’ll see a lot of the High School Musical characters ringing doorbells this year on Halloween.  For the past couple of years High School Musical costumes have been extremely popular and with High School Musical 3: Senior Year coming out the week before Halloween you can bet it will be even more so this year.  So if you’re thinking of becoming Troy, Gabriella, Sharpay, Ryan, Chad or Taylor for a night you’d better start ordering your costumes today!  Go East High Wildcats!

How Times Have Changed!

Can you believe school is starting up already?  It seems like this summer flew by (although I’m sure it felt that way to my kids more so than me)!  One minute I’m emptying out their backpacks from the end of the school year, the next thing I know I’m filling it back up with all new school supplies.  I always dread the “school supply” shopping trips.  It seems I pick the same day as everybody else in the free world when taking my kids to get all their stuff.  No matter what day of the week or time of the day, it’s always packed.  I have learned a valuable lesson over the years – never take all your children at the same time!  If you take them one at a time it’s so much easier, physically as well as mentally on both us and the kids!  Whatever happened to a kid needing good old fashioned number 2 pencils, crayons and a couple of 2-pocket folders?  My gosh now it’s mechanical pencils, highlighters, 5-subject notebooks college ruled and 3-ring binders – and that’s my kindergartners list!  Actually I’m kidding about that but it is amazing how times have changed from just being excited about coloring between the lines.

Times have changed with Halloween costumes as well.  When I was little my sisters and I always wanted to be beautiful princesses for Halloween and my brothers were always superheroes.  Today instead of just Cinderella, Snow White and Sleeping Beauty to pick from girls can be a Renaissance or Butterfly Princess or to the other extreme a Vampire or Devil Princess.  The options are endless!  So whether you want to get out there and keep up with the changing times by wearing some of the really cool up-to-date costumes or if you’re more like me and still like the ”old-school” costumes, you’ll find everything you need here at Halloween Express!
