Senior Year Fiesta!

The high school years are finally over for all the seniors 2009 and now they’re getting ready to move into the next phase of their lives whether it be college or into the working world.  But before all that they have a couple months of summer break that will be filled with wild and crazy graduation parties!

In my last blog I wrote about the ever-popular Hawaiian Luau theme party that always makes for easy planning when organizing a grad party.

Today I’m going to talk about another theme that is just as fun – Mexican Fiesta Party!

The word fiesta means “a festive celebration” and that’s exactly what a graduation party should be.  You can greet your guests with colorful sombreros and castanets.  Decorate in colors of red, white and green.  Mexican ponchos, sombreros and colorful serapes are perfect attire for your guests.  Senors and senoritas can snack on chips and salsa in addition to bite size fajitas, tortillas and enchaladas.

A pinata and frozen (non-alcoholic) margarita drinks add the perfect touch to your fiesta theme party!

Aloha Graduation Party!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend and enjoyed the un-official start of summer!  My kids are finishing up their last week of school and then it’s summer break for them.  This week is pretty simple with just turning in books and helping to clean up their classroom and school.   I’m sure the older kids in high school aren’t enjoying this last week quite as much since they have to contend with end of the year exams.

With June and July being big months for graduation parties, many parents are looking for ways to make their teenagers party memorable.  The best way to do that is by creating a “theme” for your party.  Here are some ideas:

  • Hawaiian Luau
  • Fiesta
  • Casino
  • Mardi Gras
  • Sports
  • College Bound

The most popular theme for a graduation party is the Hawaiian Luau theme.  There is a lot you can do with carrying this fun tropical theme thoughout your party.  Hawaiian costumes, flowered leis, tiki torches and it’s easy to decorate in a tropical theme with palm trees, coconuts and thatch umbrellas.

HalloweenExpress.com has everything you’ll need to make a fun-filled grad party, Hawaiian style!

Un-official Start of Summer!

Well, it’s finally here – Memorial Day week-end, the un-official start of summer.  The official first day of summer is June 21st and is called the Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year.  I would definitely much rather have the longest day of the year during the summer months than the winter.  Those months seem long enough as it is!

Memorial Day weekend brings with it picnics, parades, festivals and something the kids all love – a day off school!  Sales are bigger than ever this weekend with everything from cars to clothing being reduced in price.  Great time to get out there and get those bathing suits and flip flops.

The weather is finally becoming hot here in Kentucky.  We’ve had enough rain the past month to float a battleship, but finally a few days of sun, sun and more sun.  It’s going to be a beautiful Memorial Day weekend.

Don’t forget with summer comes school closings and the kids will be looking to you for ways to keep them busy during the day.  Kids costumes are a great way to bring out their creative sides and put those imaginations to work.  Disney costumes are really popular and so are superhero costumes!  Create a fun and learning environment for your kids this summer simply by letting them open up their imaginations!

Go Red White and Blue!

Memorial Day is this weekend and then a month after that is Fourth of July!  Show how proud you are of the good old U S of A by donning a patriotic costume

Parades, picnics and fireworks are a big part of both holidays.  With everything going on you’ll have quite a few chances to wear your costume and get everyone into the spirit of the holidays!

Costumes, flags, hats, pins, glasses, Uncle Sam and the Statue of Liberty are just some of the patriotic costumes and accessories you’ll find online at HalloweenExpress.com.  Don’t wait because I think everyone has the same idea this year to flaunt their red, white and blue and costumes are flying off the shelves.  Uncle Sam and Statue of Liberty costumes are really popular and a big hit with children and adults.   They come in all sizes too!

To find the best costumes online with the best selection on adult costumes and kids costumes look no further than HalloweenExpress.com!

Captain Kirk is Hot!

Wow, I can remember watching Star Trek when I was young and being so in love with Captain Kirk played by a young William Shatner.  Who can forget phrases like “beam me up Scottie” and “going where no man has gone before.”

Today is the official release date of the movie Star Trek and it looks like it’s going to be a big hit!  If you loved Captain Kirk back in his heydey on the tv then you’re going to love the Captain Kirk in this movie.  He’s played by the actor Chris Pine and all the young girls out there (even the old ones like me) think he’s a hottie!

This Star Trek is actually a prequel to the original Star Trek movie.  It’s all about how James T. Kirk got into the Starfleet academy and how he became “Captain” Kirk.  This movie looks really exciting with lots of action, adventure and sci-fi.

This is another one of those movies with characters that will make great Halloween costumes!  There are thousands of “trekkies” out there that whole heartedly follow Star Trek religiously.  With this new release Captain Kirk, Spock, Scottie and Dr. McCoy are going to be huge hits in costumes this Halloween.  Don’t delay check out the cool Captain Kirk costumes today!

At HalloweenExpress.com they have all the Star Trek costumes you need to make this Halloween, out of this world!
