Are You Afraid Of The Dark
That’s The Way We Became The Brady Bunch!
Halloween is a holiday best celebrated with lots of family and friends; the more the merrier! That’s why group costumes are so popular. Nobody wants to trick-or-treat alone!
There are so many great themes to pick from when choosing group costumes. My favorite by far is “The Brady Bunch”. I grew up watching the show and can still remember many of the episodes – who doesn’t! The Brady Bunch taught us many important life lessons – such as donning a huge Afro wig will make one more popular, how to sport a groovy man perm, taking an ancient tiki from Hawaii is a sure way to get you cursed and exaggerating to your friends will get Davy Jones to sing at your prom.
Besides all that, the Brady Bunch gave us a sense of style! There wasn’t a family out there that could put together outrageous vintage outfits quite like Mike, Carol, Greg, Marcia, Peter, Jan, Bobby, and Cindy!
This Halloween I’m definitely getting my husband to dress as Mike and I’m donning the Carol Brady costume! Florence Henderson (who played Carol all those years) is putting on her dancing shoes to complete in “Dancing With The Stars” which airs on ABC in a couple weeks and I know Carol Brady is going to be one hot dance momma!
I’m sad that my children are too young to appreciate the phenomenon known as The Brady Bunch, but I’m sure my brothers and sisters will be more than happy to portray one of the Brady’s in a Brady Bunch costume.
Without a doubt we’ll win first place in any costume contest this Halloween!
Avatar – A Blockbuster Movie Perfect For Halloween Costumes!
The movie Avatar was released in the United States on December 18, 2009. The movie was written and directed by James Cameron. The film broke several box office records during its release and became the highest grossing film of all time worldwide, surpassing Titanic, which had held the records for the previous 12 years. It also became the first film to gross more than $2 billion. So unless you’ve been under a rock for the past 8 months, you’ve definitely seen or perhaps heard of this little movie. My husband and I have seen the movie twice, once in it’s regular format and once in 3-D (which I have to say was amazing). My son has seen in numerous times with his friends and now has the DVD so he can watch it anytime he wants.
The characters in this movie are incredible and Avatar costumes are perfect for Halloween! The two main characters, Corporal Jake Sully and Neytiri (of the Na’Vi clan) are fun to wear whether you’re a child or adult. They make for a great couples costume if you’re going to a Halloween party or for trick-or-treating around the neighborhood. Everyone will know what character your portraying…the blue in the costume sort of gives it away!

Good news for all you Avatar fans out there! First on August 27th, Avatar will be returning to the big screen in Digital 3D and IMAX 3D. For all you moviegoers who missed experiencing the film in 3D, now you can! Furthermore, James Cameron stated that since the film was so successful, there will be at least two sequels to the film! That gives all us Avatar fans something to look forward to!
When I Grow Up, I Want To Be…
As children we’ve all wanted to be many things when we grew up; astronauts, doctors, firemen, policemen even superheroes and princesses. As we got older there is still that part of us that held on to those dreams. Some were lucky enough to follow those childhood dreams and grew up to be exactly what they always wanted to be. For others, there’s Halloween!
Halloween is the perfect time of year to fill that fantasy of, “When I grow up I want to be…”. At Halloween you can be anything you want to be!
Want to change professions for the day? Career costumes are a simple and easy way of doing just that!
- Want to “fly the friendly skies,” but you’re not a pilot?
- Race in the Indy 500, but you’re not a race car driver?
- Bust the bad guys, but you’re not a police officer?
- Fly to the moon, but you’re not an astronaut?
Have fun this Halloween by pretending to be someone else for the day!
The Vampire Phenomenon!

The vampire craze has always been there, just not as popular as it is now. In the late 90′s, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel were two televisions series that brought vampires into the spotlight. Then in November 2008 the Twilight Series began and nothing has been the same for those blood thirsty lovers of the night.
The original movie and first in the series of 4 books to be released onto the big screen was “Twilight” in November 2008, followed by “New Moon” in November 2009 and soon to be released “Eclipse” at the end of this month. Isabella “Bella” Swan and Edward Cullen have a huge following of “Twi-Hards” that live and breathe Twilight Saga!
Other vampire related television series are also moving up in popularity; True Blood on HBO and The Vampire Diaries on CW. On June 20th, ABC is trying their hand at vampire shows by premiering “The Gates” about an upscale neighborhood of what else…vampires. Vampires are coming out of the woodwork and everybody is loving it!
Halloween has always been a great holiday for vampires…vampire costumes that is! Vampires of every age, old and young come out for some Halloween fun. Good thing that trick-or-treating is at night. That way the vampires feel right at home! At HalloweenExpress.com you’ll find every imaginable vampire and vampiress costume for Halloween this year! Whether you’re looking for a Queen of Darkness Costume or a Twilight Bite Teen Costume, you’ll find it here!
With one more movie to be released (after Eclipse) in the Twilight franchise, “Breaking Dawn”, you can bet the thrill of the vampire will not be ending anytime soon!
